On the way to the Ocean – Impressions

I decided to travel all to way to Prince Rupert, a small town on the north coast just under Alaska. It was a long way to get there, but I think the pictures speak for them self.

But not everything is beautiful in Canada. Between this amazing landsace are dirty places. One town is Prince George. I unfortunately have no pictures from Prince George, but you could already see from fare away the smoke rises out of chimneys. The timber industry and is surrounded by a city which is as dirty as the air there. This is no place you wanna see when you travel, but it’s shows you that there is another Canada than the “Beautiful British Columbia”. A Canada that sold their soul to the timber and oil industry. Have a closer look at the picture above and read what the sign on the house says. This is one of many signs and a protests again a pipeline project in this area.

  1. Your pictures are beautiful. The drive to Prince Rupert through BC is magnificent. I do agree that PG is disappointing and dirty but it really is the only one that stands out for me.
